I own two of these... and I'd say it's $190 $5 shipping nice. My Vulkan was $170 $12 shipping. $13 more for the Isami and it's a much nicer Gi.

if you can afford it, why not? the only reason i wouldn't recommend anything pricey to someone new is because i feel it's a waste of money. you really don't need gear of that quality yet. but if you can afford it and don't mind spending the cash, go for it. it's only better for you and partners (in the case of gloves during sparring).

Just had this convo the other day. You can learn an art for years that doesnt mean that you are good or will even beat a noob who walks in to learn. Some people just excel at certain things. both really, if you're going to wear a double weave, train in a double weave, know how it feels and how you can move in it. be used to how much hotter it is going to be compared to your lightweight gis.

Their double weave has a reputation of being pretty much indestructable. I'vwe never used them, but I have rolled against someone wearing one. IMHO, this is a much better gi that the Lucky Gi.
i belive they run 150-170, its the shipping (~30 bucks) that raises the price here in the US. I've looked around and compared prices at different websites and it seems that, the shipping is already part of the "retail price"
not 150-170... normally $220 plus shipping (budovideos)!!!! It's a very soft and comfortable gi, but very tough (not stretchy like a lot of other soft uniforms), and it looks cool as shit.

Some of you guys arnt getting it. This is the REAL of REALS! If you wonder why someone would pay 200 for a gi, then your not a gi person. Not saying you game is weak, just saying your not a gi player. This is for jiu jitsu aficionados. not MMA guys just trying to get their "jits" (hate that word BTW) up. This gi is like rolling in the Bently. Do you NEED a $200K car? No. But will you notice the difference between this and your toyota? Most def. I dont belive in paying over $120 for a gi, Ive owened an Atama, MKimonos, I compete in Sirius, and I have a lucky gi and I just ordered a Datsusara to try out the hemp gi. Atama was nice but was 100 even when I got it in 03. Mkimonos is rugged, but feels like wearing hot wet carpet. Lucki gi is over rated, and serius is great deal for the $, but built tall and skinny. But this, THIS, is the great white buffalo (great white buffallooo...) if youre in search of the ippon, if you want a Howard because it has setsugi stiching, if youre the guy that says Ousss on forums, if you even know what I just said this gi is the truth. If you dont even know what Im talking about, stick to your Gamness. Your game will be fine and your jits will get good. But Isami is for Real Jiu Jitsu Fighters. Granted, I dont own one yet, but once I get this Mkimmono to rip, Im gonna roll in the Bently, Isami. PS-this isnt even the top price. Shoyoroll and lucky gis cost the same, and for top level judo, the mizuno ywara is like $300-$400.
