I used to think that Ring To Cage was some fly-by-night, quick to make a buck company because i had never heard of their products. But a few weeks ago I got a set of their curved thai pads for my birthday and they are awesome. The quality is just as good if not better than any of my fairtex, hayabusa, triumph united, or bad boy gear. I saw these mitts in the primetime when it aired and i was stoked, these look awesome. These products are extremely rugged and will last a long long time and they are way more affordable that those other Big Name companies. @Shane Mount incase he didn't see: No one needs "special" shirts or clothes to trane UFC. You can wear a normal shirt and whatever shorts and be fine for class. Not everyone likes the gear that is up they might buy shin guards and realize that they suck or slip off constantly so they have to look for another alternative. Shorts are shorts and shirts are shirts unless grapple then you want to look into a rash guard. People buy gear because they don't want to use the nasty disgusting mitts and gloves that are constantly being used and when you put them on they're soaking wet. For the stankyness you gotta realize most kids go into Mcdojo's with cheese on their fingers. <--------TRUTH
Totally agree the reason you buy ur own gloves and focus mitts heads gear etc is so that you dont have to use the nasty sweaty damp ones at the gym. I prefer to keep my body free of MRSA and other staph infections... This site is the best... Customer service is second to none!!!
Er... I have a problem if the shorts have zippers, buttons, pockets, or anything really that can cut me or have my finger caught in and twisted. But, plain sport shorts without pockets... i.e. soccer or rugby shorts... absolutely fine.

I'm hoping for a serious response on this because I'm really interested. What is the difference between a punch mitt and a focus mitt? Is it just size? Are punch mitts more for bare hand/mma glove training, whereas focus mitts are for boxing/sparring glove training? What are the ups and downs of each?

These are great focus mitts .... ive used them before. Can we get any mma training/sparring gloves... like 7oz thumbless or with thumb is fine too. just the fat padding on top so not breaking partners nose w/ jabs

Aaron if I wear a size large in gloves and latex gloves, would my fingers overhang on these? That is my biggest fear is that my fingers would overhang...I wouldn't want that because it would = broken fingers. So is this something I should worry about?

These are good quality mitts. The problem is if you have bigger hands, these won't work for you. They are tight!!! My palms are 4 3/4" wide and 1 1/4" thick and I have some difficulty putting them on but once they're on, they're stuck to you!
let me clarify. Mine DO NOT have the adjustable velcro strap. Sorry guys. These will probably be a better fit because then.

LoL @ Banana Tree's. Everyone freaks out about "More gear more gear" They post gloves and shin guards and pads all the time. Once you have a set, you need actual shorts and clothes to train in 7 days a week. Furthermore, unless you're a trainer, wouldn't your trainer/gym have all the "gear" you could handle to aid in your training?? I know my gym has everything we need, I'd rather my students spend their money on more clothes so they aren't the stinky guy, then have some shiny pads in their bag that they hit on weekends when they are drinking with their buddies. BTW Aaron those 18 dollar Bad Boy shorts were a big hit in the gym, I think we have four sets wandering around on the mats now.
