I bought these gloves approximately 3-4 months ago off of the combat sports website. The hook and loop closure is solid and the wrist insertion provides maximum stability as well. I have the 18oz version and they provide excellent protection in the thumb and knuckle area. The only problem I have experienced with these gloves was the wear and tear. The leather on the knuckle portion of the glove began to deteriorate over the period that I have used them (considering that I train 5-6 times a week including sparring. To me, the wear and tear is all aesthetic and is irrelevant to the overall performance of the glove. thumbs up! perfect purchase all the way.

I've had these gloves for about half a year and I can't say they're worth $40. I bought them from Combatsports for $30 and thats the most I'd pay for them. They're synthetic as opposed to leather and the hand pockets are really big. I have to 14oz gloves and they're kinda loose, even with gel wraps on.
